Cold Desert Road Trip Itinerary

    • Board an overnight Volvo bus from Delhi to Shimla.
    • Delhi Pick-up Point: ISBT Kashmiri Gate/ Majnu ka Tilla
    • Pick-up Time: 10-11 pm (average time)

    • Begin your journey at Shimla to Sangla/Chitkul through Kufri, Theog, Narkanda, and Rampur.
    • Stop for breakfast and freshen up.
    • Reach Sangla/Chitkul, check in at the hotel, and engage in group bonding activities.
    • Dinner and overnight stay in Rakcham.

    • After breakfast, visit Chitkul.
    • Then, head to Kalpa for its scenic landscapes.
    • Spend leisure time in Kalpa.
    • Visit Kalpa Monastery and the famous Suicide Point.
    • Dinner and overnight stay in Kalpa.

    • After breakfast, continue the journey to Nako, a small village in the trans-Himalayan ranges.
    • Stop at Khab, the confluence of the Sutlej and Spiti rivers.
    • Explore Nako village and the lake.
    • Enter Spiti Valley, passing through the Sumdo check post.
    • Take a detour to visit the Mummy of Giu.
    • Reach Tabo village and stay overnight.

    • Morning breakfast, then head to Tabo Monastery.
    • Visit Dhankar Monastery for a stunning view of the Spiti and Pin River confluence.
    • Enjoy a scenic drive to Pin Valley.
    • Reach Kaza for dinner and an overnight stay.

    • After breakfast, we travel towards Hikkim, home to the world's highest post office.
    • Move to Komic village, one of the highest motorable villages.
    • Visit Langza, known for fossils and the Buddha statue.
    • Visit Key Monastery.
    • Return to Kaza for dinner and overnight stay.

    • We start tracing our steps towards Chandratal via Losar.
    • En route, we visit Kibber and the Chicham bridge.
    • Reach Chandratal and hike to visit the Lake.
    • Later, check into the Campsite near Chandratal Lake, and stay overnight in the tents under the gaze of a million stars and the Milky Way Galaxy.

    • Begin the journey to Manali via Chatru, Atal Tunnel, and Solang.
    • Pass through stunning landscapes.
    • Reach Manali by evening.
    • Board the Volvo bus back to Delhi.

    • Arrive in Delhi early in the morning (6-10 am).
    • The trip ends with good memories.

Disclaimer

  • 1. Chandratal stay is subject to the weather/road conditions and availability. In the case if we are not staying in Chandratal, the overnight stay will be at Sissu/Gondhla (Lahaul Valley) (It's a surprise anyway, there will be a new add on to the itinerary i.e- Lahaul Valley)
  • 2. Sharing in Chandratal could be on the Tripple / quad basis due to limited camp's availability in that remote area.
  • 3. Any kind of misbehavior or abusive attitude towards the Tour Leader/Driver/Host or any other co-traveler will not be tolerated, anyone found doing the same will be sent back there and then.
  • 4. As mentioned, accommodation will be in a Hotel/Homestay/Camps. In case of homestays we do not promise attach washroom, but we make sure its a different charm staying in homestay as you will get a taste of the local lifestyle and culture.
  • 5. Expenses incurred (accommodation/transportation) due to road blockages or other natural calamity will be borne directly by travelers.
  • 6. Don’t expect air conditioning in cabs in hilly areas due to the strain on the vehicle while driving.
  • 7. In case the group size is less than 8 people, an experienced local driver cum guide will be provided instead of a tour captain.
