OVERVIEW

The Bhrigu Lake trek is a popular spiritual trek located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The trek is best undertaken from mid-April to mid-November, and Manali serves as the nearest town to the base camp. The trek is 15 km long, and it provides stunning views of the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. The lake, located to the east of Rohtang Pass, is named after Maharishi Bhrigu, who meditated near it, making it a sacred site. The locals believe that due to its spiritual significance, the lake never completely freezes. The trek takes you up to an impressive altitude of 14,000 feet, and you can experience snow just on the second day of trekking! The Moridugh camping grounds offer picturesque views that are straight out of a dream. The trail provides breathtaking views of Kullu Valley, which only get better as you ascend. On a clear day, you can also catch a panoramic view of the Pir Panjal Range and Dhauladhar ranges, including Mt. Hanuman Tibba (5,928 m), Deo Tibba (6,001 m), and Indrasan (6,221 m).

Bhrigu Lake Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Start your adventure by reporting at the campsite in Old Manali in the morning. After freshening up, we will drive to the trekking point at Kulang. From here, we will trek for approximately 4-5 hours through an ancient British route that winds through the forest to reach Moridugh. In the evening, enjoy a pleasant stay at the campsite located at an altitude of 9,500 feet. This is the perfect spot to capture breathtaking photographs of the sunset in the Dhauladhar range. Spend the night at the campsite and wake up to a refreshing start for the next day of your trekking journey.
Day 2
After a healthy breakfast, we embark on the much-awaited trek to Bhrigu Lake early in the morning. This day promises awe-inspiring views of towering peaks like Hanuman Tibba (the highest peak in the Dhauladhar range at 5928 meters), Manali Peak, and Friendship Peak. Brace yourself for walks in the snow on this day. The holy glacial lake of Bhrigu will leave you in awe, and you will have enough time to capture mesmerizing photographs and soak in the serenity around the lake. In the evening, we will return to the campsite where you can unwind with a bonfire. Overnight stay at the campsite.
Day 3
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before beginning the descent from Moridugh to Kulang village, which takes approximately 3 hours. From there, a car will transport you back to Old Manali, concluding the trek with unforgettable memories to cherish.
