Bhrigu Lake Trek

Bhrigu Lake (4,300 m) is a popular weekend trek from Manali and rightfully so. For most meadow treks, one must trek for a day or two to actually cross the treeline and reach the alpine meadows beyond 11,000 feet. But with the Bhrigu Lake trek, you can swoon over the lush, rolling grassy meadows within just 15 minutes into the trek! With such beautifully spanning grasslands in front, our trekkers often forget what Switzerland is. To have such an expansive landscape right in your backyard is truly a dream come true! The Bhrigu Lake is named after Sage Bhrigu who is said to have meditated here. It is a sacred lake for locals and is believed to never freeze completely, even in winters! Throughout the trek, the mountains of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar Ranges keep us company. With each season, comes a different charm to this trek. In winters, the green meadows turn completely white and the semi-frozen crystal blue lake is a sight to behold. Spring and summers are ideal to spot wild horses galloping around the meadows, grazing on the fresh green grass. While monsoon is the season to truly see the meadows at their brightest green, with the clouds descending to the valley below and wildflowers taking up every nook and cranny of the trail! Though a short trek, the highest altitude is a whopping 14,000 feet so you get to experience the true thrill of a Himalayan trek in just three short days! Trekatribe offers every Friday and Saturday departure for Bhrigu Lake from Manali (April to Mid-October). Join us for this thrilling adventure!
