Indrahar Pass located at 4,342 m is an exquisite trek in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Trekatribe offers trekking to this enchanting pass in the months of July-September. To reach Indrahar Pass, one must first reach the Triund ridge. Triund (2,975 meters)- an extremely popular trekking spot- is the crown jewel of Dharamshala, situated in the laps of Dhauladhar mountains, it has the perfect view of the Dhauladhar mountains on one side and Kangra valley on the other. The trek to the snow-line is 3 km from Triund ridge and goes through a beautiful forest of oak, deodar, and rhododendron. Furthermore, this entire stretch is perfect for birdwatchers, as the forests here are literally swarming with various kinds of songbirds. Though it is rainy in July and August, trekking is still possible, and the meadow is lush green, presenting an out-of-this-world vista. From Triund, the trail to Indrahar Pass passes through snowline, Ilaqa Jot, and Lahesh caves. We might find some local shepherds (Gaddis) on the way, especially near Ilaqa Jot. It takes 4 hours to reach Indrahar Pass from Lahesh Caves, it involves a steep climb and is quite challenging. Indrahar Pass rewards with a beautiful view of the Pir Panjal Range in the North and the Manimahesh Kailash Peak (5656 m) in the East direction. Indrahar Pass connects Chamba and Kangra Valley and was used by local tribes to travel in the past. The Indrahar trek is surely an enriching experience for the body and the soul. Book yourself today for this heavenly trek in the Dhauladhar ranges.
