Leh Ladakh Road Trip

Embark on an epic 11-day journey through the majestic landscapes of Ladakh. Starting from Delhi, ride to Manali for self-exploration before venturing into the breathtaking terrain of Sarchu and Leh. Explore the enchanting Nubra Valley and Turtuk village. Traverse the rugged routes to Pangong Tso via Shyok and return to Leh. Witness the ancient monasteries of Lamayuru en route to Kargil and conclude the adventure with a scenic drive to Srinagar. Immerse yourself in the beauty, culture, and adventure of Ladakh, culminating in a memorable farewell at Srinagar Airport.

Itineraries

Day 1

Delhi to Manali

-Assemble at Vidhan Sabha Metro Station Gate No.1 at 06:00 PM.
-Meet your trip leader and co-travelers.
-After a short brief, board your vehicle and leave for Manali.
-Have a halt for dinner around 9/10 PM and thereafter, we continue the journey to Manali.

Day 2

Manali Self Exploration

-Reach Manali by morning, check-in to Hotel, freshen up have breakfast and relax.
-Explore Manali according to the place that interests you.
-You can visit Hidimba Temple, Van Vihar, Vashishth Temple, Mall Road for shopping and Old Manali for cafe hopping.
-After a short briefing about the next day, have dinner and sleep overnight.

Day 3

Manali to Sarchu

-Wake up early in the morning and have Breakfast.
-The very first day of our adventurous journey, which will be a lifetime memorable and self-motivated trip.
-Drive through Atal Tunnel to Lahual valley, along the Chandra river to Keylong, the District HQ of Lahaul and Spiti. We will cross one of the highest passes of Manali Leh Highway i.e. Baralach-la Pass.
-Overnight camping stay and dinner in Sarchu.

Day 4

Sarchu to LEH

-After Breakfast at the campsite, head towards your dream destination Leh.
-Today's ride will be the longest ride. We will be crossing the most amazing Moore Plains, and experiencing a beautiful. scenic journey with 30 km of straight flattened road. (Considered to be a definitive experience and the most beautiful in the world).
-Cross the Tanglang-La Pass (5328m) one of the highest motorable road in the World.
-Reach Leh by late evening.
- Dinner and Stay in Leh

Day 5

LEH to Nubra Valley

-Wake up early, and have breakfast.
-Drive through Nubra Valley crossing over Khardung-La.
-En route visit Shanti Stupa and reach Nubra Valley by afternoon. Visit Diskit Monastery & Hunder Village.
-Visit cold deserted sand dunes where you can enjoy a Bactrian camel ride and a Jeep safari at an additional cost.
-Come back to the camps/ hotel by evening, have dinner, and sleep overnight.

Day 6

Turtuk Day Excursion

-In the morning after breakfast, leave for Turtuk, a small unexplored village in the valley.
-Turtuk falls in Baltistan - The place was under Pakistani control till 1971, so it is predominantly Muslim.
-Spend some time with Locals & after, Visit Turtuk Village.
-Come back to the camps/ hotel, have dinner, and sleep overnight.

Day 7

Nubra to Pangong via Shyok

-Wake up early morning, have breakfast, and leave for Pangong Tso (the world’s highest saltwater lake) via Agam and Shyok villages.
-This day is going to be daring and fun with an off-roading experience as you traverse through untamed paths in the high mountains.
-Reach Pangong Lake and check in to your campsite.
-Have dinner and sleep under the zillion stars.

Day 8

Pangong Tso to LEH

-Wake up early, watch a beautiful sunrise, and freshen up.
-Post breakfast, continue your journey back to Leh.
-Drive through Chang-La (the World’s 3rd highest motorable road).
-Reach Leh and check in to the hotel.
-Explore the local market of Leh and go for cafe hopping.
-Come back to the hotel by evening, have dinner, and sleep overnight.

Day 9

LEH to Kargil via Lamayaru

-After breakfast en-route towards Kargil.
-Witness Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Patther Sahib, Sangam point of Indus River and Zanskar River, Lamayuru monastery, Giant living. Buddha Sculpture on rock and enjoy the view of the moon landscape.
-Reach Kargil in the evening by driving through Fotu La and Mulbek after a journey of 225 km from Leh.
-Overnight stay and dinner in Kargil.

Day 10

Kargil to Srinagar

-Wake up, have breakfast, and leave for Srinagar.
-En route visit Drass Village - The Coldest Inhabited Place in India.
-Drive through Drass to Srinagar Via Zoji La & Sonmarg.
-Visit the Kargil War Memorial, overlooking Tololing and Tiger Hills, and reach Srinagar by evening.
-Have dinner and sleep overnight.

Day 11

Srinagar Airport Drop

-Wake up, have breakfast, and proceed to the airport.
-Fly back home with a backpack full of memories.
-On the contrary, you may explore Srinagar according to the place that interests you and fly back home according to your convenience.
-You can go for a Shikara ride in Dal Lake and stay in a houseboat, visit India’s largest freshwater lake-Wular Lake, visit ‘The Crown of Srinagar’-Shalimar Bagh, and explore other tourist places.

What should I wear/carry in Ladakh Valley?

– Inner Thermals (must-have)
– Down Jacket
– 3x Trek Pants/Jeans
– A fleece jacket or windcheater jacket or windproof jacket to prevent the winds (must-have)
– A good sturdy pair of shoes
– A 50-65 L backpack (Do not carry suitcases or trolley bags please)
– Woollen socks
– Heavy woollens 2-3 sets (Sweatshirts/Fleece/pullovers/warm hoodie)
– Carry a cap and Sunscreen Lotion to protect yourself from direct sunlight as it is too harsh in this region to protect yourself from UV rays
– Sunglasses to protect your eyes from the hard sun
– Hand gloves are a must-have in October to June.

Other Guidance

  • Travellers are reminded that there is a 15 kg limit on personal luggage for all trips.
  • Cameras, whether video or film, needed to be protected against the severe cold either in a warm pouch or the interior pockets of your clothing. Do not keep your camera in your backpack at higher elevations.
  • No insurance is provided during the trip of any kind.
  • When you travel, please never litter.
  • Remember – “Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints”. So, keep the mountains clean and green.
  • Aspirins and Paracetamols are highly recommended for headaches and because they also thin the blood which will help improve circulation & oxygen delivery to the body.  Strong painkillers are not recommended as they can suppress respiration.
  • Personal expenses of any kind will not be entertained.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellation of booking of tour 31 days or more before the date of Departure will result in a 20% deduction from the total cost of the tour.
  • Cancellation of booking of tour 21-30 days before the date of Departure will result in a 40% deduction from the total cost of the tour.
  • Cancellation of booking of tour 11-20 days before the date of Departure will result in a 60% deduction from the total cost of the tour.
  • Cancellation of booking of tour 6-10 days before the date of Departure will result in an 80% deduction from the total cost of the tour.
  • Cancellation of booking of tour 1-5 days before the date of Departure will result in a 100% deduction from the total cost of the tour.
