An Overview
The trek to Shali Tibba at 2872 m is a peaceful trek in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. The best time for Shali Tibba trek is in the month of March to December. Mashobra is the nearest town from the base camp and the total length of the trek is 6 km one way. Shali Tibba trekking offers a panoramic 360-degree view of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, making it a vantage point not to be missed. It is the highest peak in the vicinity of Shimla and is surrounded by Shimla, Mashobra, Kufri, Fagu, and Narkanda. The trek to Shali Tibba starts from Khatnol village, and along with its mesmerising panoramic 360-degree view of Himachal Pradesh, it goes through a beautiful valley full of blue pine and cedar forest. The Shali top has a temple dedicated to the goddess Bhima Kali. The temple has been constructed with wood and stones, following the rural Himalayan architecture. A trail to the temple was constructed in 1936 by the Raja of Faridkot and the same trail exists today in good shape. From here one can locate Mt. Deo Tibba and Mt. Indrasen in Kullu, followed by Sail peaks of Lahaul-Spiti. This is followed by the Shrikhand ranges and Kinnaur side peaks, namely Mt. Hansbeshen, Mt. Krunshikring, Churdhar range from Chopal and Sirmour side. You can also view peaks like Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kalanag, and Badrinath of Uttarakhand on a clear day.

Shali Tibba Trek Itinerary
Day 1
The trip begins with our arrival in Shimla from Chandigarh/ Delhi. This day is preserved for getting comfortable in the hills and preparing yourself for the trek that lays ahead. After a briefing on the adventure that begins the following day, you are free to roam and explore this Himalayan city before retiring to your comfortable beds in Shimla.
Day 2
The trek first begins with an early morning drive of around 44 km from Shimla towards Khatnol. We then start trekking to Shali Tibba which is just 6km from the main road head. After reaching Shali Tibba, we get a briefing about the place and about the ranges visible from there followed by a bonfire and night stay at the top.
Day 3
After rising to the a beautiful sunrise and fueling ourselves with a hearty breakfast, we start our descend from Shali Tibba towards Khatnol and drive back to Shimla and further depart towards Chandigarh/ Delhi. You can also choose to stay the night at Shimla as per your convenience.
